#WomenNotUnderstandingTheIssueEvenASmidge

First problem: if you work for a “boss” as in having healthcare through your company, you pay this thing called a premium. As in, you pay. You pay money.

Let me repeat that again: You. Pay. Money. For. Your. Healthcare. Coverage. You don’t just check a box saying “yes I want healthcare coverage” and boom, you never pay a cent.

Your boss does not “provide it for free.” You pre-pay for it EVERY MONTH whether you use your healthcare for birth control, cancer treatment, mammograms, a urinary tract infection, a routine physical, meds for your pre-existing condition (Thanks ACA!) or NEVER GO TO THE DOCTOR AT ALL.

Reason number one that I need not just feminism and sex education in schools but BASIC FUCKING HEALTHCARE RULES TAUGHT IN SCHOOL INSTEAD OF REQUIRING ME TO TAKE THREE YEARS OF FUCKING FINDING THE MEANING OF X. I CAN FIND THE BASIC MEANING OF X BY THE END OF YEAR ONE. TEACH PEOPLE HOW FUCKING INSURANCE, LOANS, HEALTHCARE, ETC. WORKS INSTEAD!

Also reason number one that people need to be taught what “pre-paid” means.

This is the exact same nonsense as calling social security an “entitlement” when it is 100% funded by deductions from our own paychecks.

This, and all the above commentary, only touches the surface of all the ways this graphic is fucking ridiculously misinformed and wrong, btw.

bisexual-books:

Happy Celebrate Bisexuality Day everyone!!!  We’re often asked about our favorite bisexual books so here they are!

A stunning, thought-provoking work of intersectional feminist non-fiction that both supports bisexual people and challenges them to be forces of revolutionary cultural change.

Recommended by: Evan and Sarah
A beautifully drawn and written graphic novel series detailing the long and complicated path we sometimes take towards love.

Recommended by: Ellie
An X-Files inspired science fiction adventure with aliens, government conspiracies, and a unique solution to the classic young adult love triangle story.

Title: Grasshopper Jungle

Recommended by: Evan
Appeals to fans of sci fi, the apocalypse, YA lit, and has a strong bi romantic triangle.

Title: Hild

An exquisitely detailed historical epic based of the life of St Hild of Whitby in medieval England. Will appeal to readers who like intense historical accuracy and period-accurate bisexual characters.

Title: Not My Father’s Son

I think it’s so important to read the real life stories of bisexuals and their struggles and successes in life. This is also an excellent portrayal of life and recovery in domestic violence situations.

Title: Otherbound

A stunning fantasy grounded in diversity, social justice, and power/privilege dynamics where an epileptic Latino teen boy visits the magical world of a mute bisexual girl when he closes his eyes.

If I’m going to have a public platform, I want to use it not just to elevate myself but to elevate issues that are important to me… there are so many more trans folks coming forward and saying, ‘This is who I am, this is my story, I will not be silent anymore, I will not be in hiding anymore,’ and that’s when a movement really happens, right?

Remember #BringBackOurGirls? This Is What Has Happened In The 5 Months Since

On the night of April 14, 2014, hundreds of schoolgirls at the Chibok boarding school in northeastern Nigeria awoke to the sound of gunfire. They saw men in camouflage approaching and thought soldiers were coming to save them from a militant attack, according to survivors’ accounts.

THANK YOU.

Bi Superpowers

bisexualpiratequeen:

  • confusing non-bi’s
  • explaining the actual definition of bisexuality and biromanticism for, like, the 500th time today, god
  • Being invisible
  • slipping in and out of existence based on the viewer
  • we’re really good at hiding in small dark spaces and hissing at strangers
  • bioluminescence
  • idk i’m quite good at falling over things but that might be me

The frightening thing is that, like most of their other campaigns against women, they see themselves as just warriors fighting for what’s right. This is primarily because they firmly believe that any woman who speaks up on women’s issues is completely disingenuous and only doing it for the purposes of self-promotion, and that any man who does is looking to get laid, because they actually cannot possibly imagine a scenario in which someone would genuinely give a shit about women.

Members of this board, as well as “Men’s Rights Activists” in general, tend to go apoplectic at even the most mild implications that women might be human beings. For them, this is simply “not allowed” and must be punished swiftly and severely, as they appear to believe that feminism is the one obstacle in the way of all these pathetic neckbeards getting their pick of supermodel girlfriends who obey their every whim. The goal is to make it as uncomfortable to speak out about misogyny and women’s issues as possible, which is why they go to the wall in terms of harassing women like Emma Watson. At the end of the day, this is the crux of it. It would be sad if it weren’t so vile.

Hey, White America, You Need To Hear What These Ferguson Kids Have To Say

In a new video from social justice-oriented T-shirt company FCKH8, several Ferguson children lampoon the excuses white people give to avoid getting involved in ending discrimination in America and deliver a call to action to stomp out racism.

Watch the full video and see these kids explain how racism is still a huge part of even getting an interview for a job.

THIS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN

Friendly reminder on bi awareness day:

spookyshep:

officialjohnconstantine:

spookyshep:

You can be grey-asexual and/or grey-aromantic and be bi.

If on the occasions you’re attracted to people it’s to more than one gender you can still identify as bi if you want to. If anyone tries to stop you, use your bi powers to tear off their hateful little head.

scratch that, you can be full ace or full aro and still be biromantic or bisexual

this too. I more meant there’s nothing wrong with being both grey-ace and grey-aro and still identifying as bi.
